does it respond differently when in 2 or 4wd?
Exactly the same with mine. Going into 4wd makes it go away, going back to 2wd, it may come back immediately or may take a min or two to start the noise.does it respond differently when in 2 or 4wd?
lmao. So.... still at the dealership.
If you look up the 2024 part number for the axle assembly - it supersedes to a new part number....this contains a new CAD design. which requires a new CAD actuator.
The plugs are different and ram has no bulletin for the new pinouts..... im beside myself.
Any guru's happen to have the service manuals for this?
It would be interesting to see if the two can be compared.
This endeavor started in September.
Now I’m 50/50 on pursuing the lemon law.Well that’s a bunch of horse s**t! Finally wheeled the truck today and the front end is loud as s**t now…
On the lift there is no load on the truck when running so it shouldn’t make the same noise as when there is a load on it.My trucks back at the dealer, been a week now and the engineering specialist is trying to “figure it out”. What’s crazy is everyone involved can hear it plain as day when driving yet “can’t replicate issue” when it up on the lift?! I’m pretty sure the young lady assigned to my case could sense my frustration when I replied “I don’t want to hear that crap, I drive my truck with the wheels on the ground, not up in the air!”
I bet if they’d just open the front axle to take a peak they’d find the problem….

Bingo!!!On the lift there is no load on the truck when running so it shouldn’t make the same noise as when there is a load on it.
It’s a head scratcher for sure. That ridiculous. So they haven’t cracked the cover to inspect it even? So worried about “getting paid”. This whole warranty thing stinks for the customer. Sorry for that.
My Reflection 298 is having issues. Going in for a roof inspection (delaminating plywood) that they just installed a month ago (new roof under warranty due to plywood that got wet and came apart at the factory). Trying to make you guys feel better!

They "claimed" when they removed the front driveshaft, they could manually turn it and feel the interference between the gears... I'm assuming someone did not preload the pinion correctly. My experience with that though was, whining would be heard either on the throttle or off the throttle. Not both, like I was experiencing. My trucks back at the dealer, been a week now and the engineering specialist is trying to “figure it out”. Just weird it didnt do it in 4wd.They "claimed" when they removed the front driveshaft, they could manually turn it and feel the interference between the gears... I doubt they would feel anything unless the was major damage like broken parts. They "claimed" when they removed the front driveshaft, they could manually turn it and feel the interference between the gears...
