From Tacoma to Torque: My First Ram Is on the Way

Hey everyone,

I'm from Riverside County, CA. Longtime Tacoma owner, but I finally decided to move up to the big leagues — just bought a 2026 Ram 2500 Laramie Night Edition Cummins (5th wheel prep, tow package, and air suspension), and it’ll be here in a couple days. First RAM for me, so I’m here soaking up all the info I can before delivery day. I'm towing a pull trailer - Grand Design 2500RL. 5th wheel prep was for future-proofing.

Been in the IT consulting world for 3 decades, so research and overanalyzing things is kind of my superpower . Looking forward to learning from you all and contributing once I get some seat time.

I see that a lot of you abide by the, "This thread is useless without pics" LOL so all I have is what the dealership in AZ sent me. BTW, I ended up doing an out-of-state purchase because CA sucks and I got a way better deal doing the transaction a state away.

Welcome, I too came from Toyota land, too many Tacomas and Tundras to count. I now own 2 2500, CDs and a 1st gen Tacoma Crewcab, 4x4 as a backup that I call Tiny! The Ram CDs come with a learning curve!

Looks great! I just took delivery on a new 2500, same color as yours. I've had pretty good luck with my Rams on general. You'll like it.

Nice looking truck . I bought out of state before . If you haven’t you need to get a certified weight ticket . Get it at a Cat scale on your way back any large truck stop has them . Be sure to tell them you want it certified. Make sure they don’t charge you AZ tax because CA will charge you . Make sure DMV only taxes you on the actual price you paid . They tried to charge me tax on the price before discount . Good Luck dealing with them .
