Fridge Mounting Options?

I have an ARB Elements fridge and am curious to see how and where others are mounting their fridges. If you have any pictures, or can link a build thread, it would be greatly appreciated!

I took delivery about two weeks ago and we have a nearly three week road trip coming up, and I have a lot to do!

I also ran an arb harness to the bed. I ran it through the frame for when I run it in the bed.IMG_20220629_102456184_HDR.jpg

when it is in the bed, how do you secure it?
cinch straps through the handles. I have a piece of plywood with D rings or just use the unistrut I have for my bikes. Even when in the cab if I go offroading I use cinch straps.

In my previous truck, I installed these: https://www.macscustomtiedowns.com/.../anchor-plate-assembly-slimline-4-pack-520510

I then used the Dometic tie downs through the front and rear handle to secure it. Made for a clean surface when the fridge wasn't installed as well. Worked well. I will likely do the same in the new truck.

If you want to get really fancy, you can use the same setup above, then put the stud adaptors on it, then bolt a fridge slide to that. Only problem is it will put the height of most fridges above the tonneau cover (if that matters to you)

Hey, those are pretty slick. Glad you mention here because I think that is a better route to go, vs. what I have been looking at (see link).

I am not following the stud adapter route with a fridge slide. Can you explain more or provide some sort of an image? Ultimately, I do want a fridge slide and the height of it wont be an issue, since I am going with a topper/cap.

Thanks!

Sure. Using the fitting I showed you, plus four of these: https://www.macscustomtiedowns.com/...ucts/versatie-threaded-stud-m10-thread-310009

Mount those into the floor on the same pattern that your fridge slide of choice needs. Then drop the slide on those studs, fridge on the slide, voila. When done, take it all out and leave the mounting plates.

In my TRX I actually mounted three rails the full length of the bed, instead of just the little pucks. It was useful as I then had tiedowns the full bed length. But the install was much more of a pain and ultimately on my 2500 I just installed a few of the slimline tie downs.

Awesome, thank you. Just ordered those tie down anchors.

Here is what I did.

Where did you exit the cab to get to the bed?
I ran straight down from the battery right thru the frame and came up and out on the lower hole where the tie down loop is on the front stake pocket.

Okay, so your ARB outlet in the bed is running off a battery (primary or second battery) under the hood?

I'm trying to figure out how I can get from my lithium battery in the bed to a fridge inside the cab. All I've come up with so far is to go down through one of the bed holes, along the frame, and then into the cab through the firewall. Was hoping there is something closer between the truck bed and back seat.

There is some plastic plugs on the floor of the cab. Just drill through one of the plugs.

So that I didn’t take us on a complete thread hijack, when in the truck bed, I use Nite-ize CamJam straps to tie the fridge down to Core Trax mounted on our Decked drawer system.

Any chance you can provide more pictures and details on running the harness from engine bay to bed? I am needing to run that harness today/tomorrow and cannot visualize how to do it. Hoping to have the fridge mounting on the left side (driver's side) of the bed, so not sure where the harness will come into the bed from.

thanks!

hook the arb harness to the battery (don't actually hook it up until you get it run through but put the ends by the hot post so you know how much length you need) then drop it down to the frame and run it in the hole that is right there (I put a rubber grommet so it would not rub through) snake it back thru the frame and there is a hole on top of the frame near the front of the box and just fish it up from there. I used plastic conduit to prevent any rub through on top of the frame where it the harness came out. will be easy if you have fish wire. I used a stiff piece of plastic tubing.

Thank you! This helped a lot. Kinda tricky getting that harness down the frame but it worked out. Appreciate it!
