Fog light for 2019 Tradesman

Any tips on getting to BCM? I'm wiring the remote starter now and stopped once I realized how hard is to get to that BCM. I know I have to remove the amplifier.
Not any tips really, ya have to suffer through it. I did a remote start as well and about the only thing that helped for me was to unplug as many harness connectors I could and zip-tie them out of the way. Remove the knee panel , side dash panel and the headlight switch for as much access as possible. Then perform an upside down 69 position and get it over with.

I just can't wait to do it  . Need to get ready emotionally for that one. One more question before I get to it. Is there a tool to easily remove pin 11 from the connector?

looks good !
So i read through a ton about the aux switch bank as i was gonna do the same as you, (factory lights and bezels) but wanted to utilize a factory upfitter swith that my tradesman does not have. Soooo i will do aftermarket switch to factory lights also if i cant find any more user friendly info on adding accessory switch bank to my tradesman. seems like a real bitch to deal with. my 3500 2017 had em and simple to wire what you want. uuuuugh.

Ahhh the Upfitter Mod, yet another on my wish list.

Mine has a single push button center but does nothing when pushed? Can I wire up to that?

That button is functional. It illuminates the center rear taillight that illuminates the bed. The switch with factory fog lamps has that round button split in two portions, one for bed illumination and one for fogs.

Has anyone used the factory foglamp switch to activate a relay which controls the fogs? This would allow us to bypass dealer activation which seems like a pain in the ass...

The switch doesn’t work like that. It’s a multiplex switch that sends a pulse to the BCM, then the BCM turns the fog lamp outputs on or off. Use AlfaOBD to enable the fog lamps instead of the dealer.

Starting to get parts in and preparing to tackle this mod. @Jimmy07 just to confirm - I believe you said that we don’t need to install fuses on the power wires that we plug into the BCM, am I correct? I’ll be making my own harness from the fog lights all the way to the BCM, so I just want to be sure. I thought I read a post by you somewhere that no inline fuses were necessary. And while I have you, is the same true on the home made remote start harness that I will be running from the hood latch to the BCM?

Correct. Inputs and outputs at the BCM are already fused at the PDC.

Damn these trucks got technical.
Shoot i'm old school, guess i be drilling a hole and mounting a switch , running wires with a fuse. uuuugh. I really wanted to use a factory accesory swith ( that in its self is a nightmare trying to get parts kid a dealer to help)!!

Actually, all the part #'s you need can be found in this thread.

Not really, so a few. Mine is a tradesman 6.4 with no accessory switch bank for me to utilize. Dont know if i have power center under hood if i even could find correct acc switches. Standard light switch that would kill them on high beam if i get the factory with fog .
I think i will mount factory with bezels or aftermarket and trim my blanks and find a really clean switch and mount and forgo all those headaches.... especially the getting the computer to make it work, uuuuugh...
Great thread, great guys, great forum anyways. i will stay tuned for a programmer and or chip and exhaust ( espeacially if mine develops this apparent squeak)..
2020 6.4 crew/ 400 miles & really liking it after 3 generations of diesel ones.

Anyone who goes with a custom switch rout, post up here. I would like to see what you come up with. I am thinking about ordering the oem bezel and bracket and installing the baja designs Bighorn light kit, likely activated from a diy switch. I would prefer something that doesn't require drilling into my console.... I don't have upfitter switches.

there is a wiring kit on the market and the switch bank is available from fca. I'm gonna give the install a go next wknd. have the switch bank installed alresdy.

Cool. looks good.
I spent some time with a friend at the mopar parts center here. 1st,mine is not diesel so that switch bank doesn't jive with my 6.4. he says even if i got the correct bank which we did find( completely different that that one) have to ad pd center as well, then the only way it will work is to make the computer read it and make computer activate. I totaled it all up and as much as i want it to look super clean and factory $800-$900 just for fogs........
so, i ordered factory halogen lights with brackets and bezels and pigtails for lights ( $376.) and i will find a switch and wire old school.
It appears different models depending on factory equipped makes it a whole lot easier .
Staying around for programmer options now & this exhaust sqeak that mine doesnt really have ( yet )....

yah not sure on the gassers. I don't have the pdc so bought a harness from a gentleman that works around not having it.

I did run my fogs to a stand alone switch.
