Fitment sanity check - 295/70/R18 on 18x9 +12 wheels.

I ran several sets of the Michelin Defender LTX M/S and their predecessors for the last 9 years on an 06 mega cab and liked them so much that I put a set on our Honda. The ride is quite, they wear well and work great pulling our 5th wheel for that time. However, I spend most of my time on the road. Never had any issues on gravel and snow that we did see, evening towing the 5th wheel across the Denali highway (mostly dirt). But with the light tread you definitely would not want to get too serious with your off roading.

If I can't find the Michelins in stock I may go with the Bridgestone Dueler Revo, which Tire Rack rated highly and specifically praised winter driving. They're in stock and fairly cheap at Costco. My truck is a Hemi with the 4.10 so I should be fine with the gearing. I bought my camper from a guy in the Silverthorne, CO area so the first thing I did when I drove it home was head up the "Ike Gauntlet", the same stretch of road the TFLTruck guys use to test everything. No issues at all getting over the pass with the camper on the back so even with the taller tires I'm not too worried.

The weight of the Bridgestones will definitely help you to maximize the gearing as well as save on MPG! I havent seen or heard much about them on the forums, but they have a lot of siping.

I had plans to put the same on my truck, but they were backordered everywhere, so I ultimately changed up my plans. Hoping the new choice shows up next week.

Those wheels look great with the billet silver! I searched and researched too much for wheels, I didnt want all black again, and have been pleased how it turned out looks wise!

I'm in no rush, thanks for being willing to take a look. I need to drop the camper so I can pull into the garage and make sure I have enough clearance for the taller tires anyway.

My local shop has the Michelins at $264 and the Falkens at $268, and there's also a $70 rebate on a set of Michelins right now.

As promised, here is a picture of the front wheel turned to where it is closest to the wheel well. I can still almost fit 2 fingers between tire and mud flap.
(reminder, these are Falken Wildpeak AT3 295/70R18 on 18x9 +20 rims)

Thanks Kobra! As it turns out I finally got down to the tire shop today. Ended up getting the exact same Falken tires, same size as you, on the Icon 18x9 +12 wheels. The Michelins were back ordered indefinitely, so I talked myself into the Wildpeaks based on the good reviews here. They definitely look cooler than the Michelins.

Here’s a pic, really like the way they turned out. They poke out from the wheel wells quite a bit more than the stockers.

Not so far. I need to get the camper loaded back on to be sure but since nearly all the camper weight ends up on the back axle I think it should be fine. I kept going back and forth between bronze and silver for the wheels, very happy I went with the bronze.

I've been very impressed with how smooth and quiet those Falken's are after half a week. Even had a passenger comment on that out of the blue. He thought they were going to be noisy from the looks of them.

Yes, noticed that they're quieter and ride better than the Firestones right away. I was also very surprised that they put a 55,000 mile warranty on such an aggressive looking tire.

I went with the same size tire on my 2020 3500 ltd. (LT295/70R18)
I looked at the Method 305 HD, but they were backordered in Canada for weeks. I settled on Fuel Blitz D674 18x9 +20 offset, with a 3700lb capacity rating. That is more than OEM. I was told by a couple tire shops that as long as the wheels matched the axle rating, nothing more was needed. That is why the 3500lb factory rims are ok even though the factory tires exceed that. Others may know differently.

I have had the Michelin tires before and they are very good highway tires, great in wet, not really great in deep snow and ok on ice. I went with Falken Wildpeak AT3W this time as they have the 3PMSF rating and get good reviews. I don't have enough experience on them to know for sure but initial impressions are good. They are much cheaper than the Michelins where we are.
I have absolutely no rubbing anywhere, but with the +12 offset, that may be an issue but I can't say.

Yes, totally stock suspension. I ordered the Limited trim, so honestly I don't know if it has the off road package or not.

He would have the stickers saying offroad 4x4 on the back corner of the box if it was the offroad pkg even then the suspension is the same just different shocks...
