I am new to Ram and 3/4 ton trucks. I have had several Toyota Tacomas and then a 2015 Ford F150 for some background. Just bought a 2500 Tradesman a couple months back and wondering about the Firestone Transforce HT that come with it. I am not sure if it's just Ram's, 3/4 ton trucks, or these tires but I just seem to be all over the road with them. On my past trucks I almost felt like they would drive themselves for the most part and track straight down the road. This new truck/tires seems like I float back and forth between the lines and just seems to wonder.

I have tried different tire pressure setting with no change. So do these tires just suck or is it thing with Ram's or 3/4 ton trucks? This is my only complaint about the truck so far.

Read....and read some more. The tires are horrible and we all complain to deaf ears. I know the feeling you are having. Change them out like most or deal with the issues until they are worn out. Just be careful.

I have, but all I am finding is how soon they wear out and how they don't have traction on anything other than dry pavement. Haven't come across anything about wondering back and forth.

How low did you go on the pressure?

Sounds like you need alignment, go find the Thuren recommended alignment specs and get those done. The factory alignment specs are garbage...imho.

I know EXACTLY what you mean. I felt the same way when I first bought my Ram. I switched out the tires and it's like a different truck. I also didn't like the Lane Departure assist so turned that off and liked it much better.

I have the same feeling in my truck where it has a bit of a wander feel (2021 2500 Mega cab). I feel it's pretty decent on straight highway, but once there are curves or uneven roads it becomes a little more to handle. I wondered if it could be anything with adaptive steering (not to be confused with lane departure)? I am afraid to take it for alignment because the steering wheel is straight and it tracks straight on good roads, but it's definitely not like my other vehicles which require less steering on the same roads

That is exactly how I feel. I don't have lane departure on my truck. It's a pretty basic Tradesman with about 2500 miles. I will try to gut out 20,000 or so on these tires and hope that when I put different tires on it gets better.

I actually have the opposite opinion and I can say without a doubt have driven more miles on Firestone Transforce tires than anyone here who has replied and at a stake with Million-Dollar boats in tow.

I have truly appreciated the grip they afford and will admit when they are new, they are squirmy on the road. It takes about 3-5 good heat cycles for them to "calm down" and let the tires really get into their own. In the winter, I swap to the Transforce AT2s and have not seen a better snow tire for these stock wheels. I had to tow this J35 Sailboat over the Snoqualmie pass a year ago, making the pass 10 minutes before an avalanche shut the road down for four days. I have never had an issue and with over 1-Mil miles traveled on these tires over the past six years... just mind your pressures to 80 psi and enjoy!

I don't have any traction or handling issues, on or off road, but yesterday afternoon my front tires caught my eye and I gave them a good look over. Just over 6,000 miles and the fronts have noticeable wear. I understand that's gonna happen with a diesel but this is way too fast.

Same issue with it floating. Nothing wrong from alignment standpoint. 21 2500 Limited 1k miles

Just a heads up for those that don't know. Discount Tires will buy your tires as long as they're relatively new. I got $150 per tire when I bought my new set of Ridge Grapplers.

I didn't care for the Transforce tires but I never had any wandering with my truck.

I have 13,500 miles on mine and no ride or wear issues. Dealer had close to 80 psi in them so I dropped down to 60 psi as the door sticker said.

Replaced mine with Cooper's after recieving truck. The guy who bought them seemed happy to have them.

By far these were the worst tires I've ever tried to drive on. Pulling a heavy loaded trailer was dangerous! At 13,000 miles I swapped them out for a set of Coopers. My truck went from driving like it was on Meth to a reliable pleasant to drive truck.

I sold my fire stones trans all terrains for $600 and put on a set of Nitto ridge runner grappler’s in stock size. I have a much better ride and drive now, fuel economy is actually a little better. Running 65 pounds of air like it says on the door of the truck.

I am using the stock firestone tires on my 3500 tradesman and they aren't great by any means. That said I will use them until they wear out, and actually doubled down and bought a set on stock tradesman wheels from a guy that took them off of his truck. I'll be lucky to get 10k miles out of the first set with my use case, but for $350 I can't buy another set of tires and I got a 2nd set of wheels along with it.
