Firestone OEM tires

My 3500 HO is being built currently. Was wondering what you guys that already have your trucks thought about the stock tires that come with the truck? I’ll be towing my 35’ travel trailer with it. Wondering if they’re decent enough tires to run until they wear out or should they be replaced right away?
 
Depends on your application and use, off road they're generally junk but highway use they're not bad weather conditions depending .

Your best bet is to Google them and look at the reviews on 1010tires but again application is everything.

Don't some of the 3500's come equipped with Nexans? I may be thinking 4500/5500's.

There is a growing thread count on this forum where they are universally panned as hot garbage.

@yycdiesel gave you all you really need about them though.

When I remove them for Ridge Grapplers, I'm going to ask the tire guys if I can take the stones out back and pee on them before leaving. That's how much I love them.

I think Nexans are only on the 3500 DRW (dually) with Alcoa wheels. Everything else gets Transcrap.
 
Okay thanks guys, I looked at the reviews on 1010tires and seems like everyone hates them. Hopefully I’ll be able to sell them
 
They are round and hold air. I am going to run them for a bit. It's a pavement princess so nothing too challenging for me.

Remember they're paid for so for me I run 35x12.5r20s in the winter and use these for summer to burn off on the highway. They're already here so why not use them but for me this is 100 percent a pavement princess with extremely light logging roads so when they burn out I got a set of 36x11.5r18's to out on but waiting to buy wheels until then.

I had Michelins on my 2013 RAM 2500 diesel towing a 12K toyhauler just fine. Got into a deal with Firestones at hundreds less than the Michelins. Under the same 12K toyhauler, the TPMS would show ** instead of tire pressures with the Firestones. Checking the pressure with a gauge showed 95+ PSI after about 300 miles interstate running. I will no longer run Firestones on my tow rig.

Wife didn't like them on her Mustang. Or on her last minivan.

Transforce HT tires came on the 2021 CTD 3500. This weekend I was going about 65 on the freeway in light to moderate rain. There were no obvious puddles, but the road definitely more than just damp. Noticed a hydroplaning feel in the steering on one section of road so slowed down a little. I have driven my old Ford with Michelins and Toyos in worse conditions and not noticed this. Could have just been some ponding in the track of the freeway I suppose, but I was surprised because the tires are new with less than 700 miles so have as much tread as they will ever have. They were fine for the rest of the trip in similar or less rain but I will certainly have to be careful in a downpour. Truck was empty, but with the weight overall and the CTD over the front wheels, you would think this would not happen. Concerning though as before that happened, I had concluded they were good enough to use for a while at least. I have not towed with them, but until the water issue, they were riding, tracking, and handling fine with no objectionable road noise. Now I wonder how safe they will be in very rainy conditions, especially when towing.
 
Sold my Transforce tires with 595 miles on them for $550. The guy who bought them seemed to be happy when he left.
 
On the Dually's &CC trucks, RAM is bringing Michelins and Goodyear back as choices though I cannot locate the article I saw for the life of me. If it's the Michelin cross-climate, they are getting worse reviews than the Firestone or Nexus tires.

Ditto.

Sold mine with 500 miles for $500 before they were even dismounted.

Sold mine to a couple of part-time ranchers and they had no complaints about them for their intended use.
 
I thought I priced mine to move at $350. They were basically brand new with less than 50 miles on them. It still took me a week to sell them and the only other offer I got was for $200.
