Hello all.
Finally joined after learning about this site when I joined the ram forums hoping it would be the end all be all place for me then finding out about fifth gen rams and then finally here.
Long story short my "cheap fixer upper get me through paying for student loans" truck accidentally got left at a ram dealership the beginning of March. Pregnant wife in tow and pandemic in full swing now it is probably the worst time to buy but I've made my peace. The 03 Silverado 2500 6.0/4.10 did nothing but cost me time and money for 2 years. Mind you my truck is ONLY a weekend warrior/tow rig. My wife and I carpool to work.
I had a few simple requirements for my truck. At least 3/4. gn/5th wheel ready. Crew cab. Short bed and really wanted 4.10 gearing because of my previous truck and really wanted (but didn't get) aux switches.
. Found 2 dealerships selling trucks ALMOST perfect. A gray one that was 3.73 but had aux switches. The other one that came home with me. 2019 black tradesman 6.4 l2 with air suspension but no aux. in the end 4.10 was more important than aux.
So far the truck has been a blast to own and drive outside of the mds. I hate it bogging down and shifting early but I'm making peace with that too. This year the truck has gotten a few accessories that protect it/make it work for me. Undercoating. Tonneau. Toolbox. Splash guards(still shopping). Brush guard.
