I'm pretty happy with my tradesman. Same as you I love the vinyl seats/floors. The only big ticket options I ordered were bed liner/lights/step, BSM mostly for the led taillights, and the 8.4 Uconnect for Android auto.
 
I miss adjusting the radio with the steering wheel controls. This one doesn't even have sirius, even though the antenna is there. But I do have a big compass display.

Have yeah, that compass is huge. I have the 5" with XM somewhere in storage. PM if you're interested.

That's how I started. Just wanted a tradesman with vinyl floors and seats. Wanted the black front end as I don't care for the chrome. As soon as I added some option, it added the chrome . Then started looking at the BH, then ram boxes, then sport package and led lights. Truck went from a high 40s to low 60s real quick. Found mark dodge and got what I wanted for somewhere in the middle. Part of me kinda wishes that I had ordered that bare bones tradesman and saved about 10k but definitely happy with what I ended up with.
 
My 19 tradesman has lots of options to many if you ask me as i have already had some issues with them. Somedays i wish i would have got the barebones lol
 
I went out looking for (almost) the cheapest truck I could find. Two doors, no carpet, used.

Now, when I use it, if I scratch it or ding it, I'm not sweating it (as much).

I think a lot of folks use their truck as a trophy, not for work.

Thats exactly why i went with the tradesman vs the fully loaded bighorn i was looking at plus the tradesman was an 8ft box which is what i prefer. I use my truck to plow and work pretty hard so it was better to get the tradesman.
 
I will say, I ordered mine bare bones but have slowly added a few niceties. Even though I use mine primarily as a daily work truck I've added the tailgate dampener, stock LED fog lights, and a few other things.

I also started replacing the only chrome on the truck (badges) piece by piece.

Most of the things I've added are thanks to members here!
 
I also bought a 2021 tradesman. I wanted the Cummins HO motor with the Aisin transmission. Everything else didn't matter much. I bought it off the lot and could find no others similar at the time. I am happy it came with the bedliner, 5th wheel prep, and carpet. The only option I wish it had were the Aux switches. My truck is not a daily driver and is strictly used for towing my 18K 5th Wheel trailer. It tows it with no problems at all. I love my truck.

Thanks for the mention. A little black paint goes a long way. Tradesman truck is great place to start for utilitarian build out.

I have around $10k -12k in add-ons to my truck but that still puts me around $50k since I paid $39,101 for my truck brand new (pre covid… Sticker was $47,505). Like @ramblinChet I found the up-front savings of the tradesman allowed me to have a fun budget with the truck.
