I have a 2021 3500 Ram Longhorn. It came with the installed tire pressure monitor system. They also sent 4 sensors to be installed in a 5th. wheel RV. I took the trailer to a tire dealership to have them installed. They tried but said the valve stems were too short for my 16 inch aluminum wheels. Ram said that this is the only sensor they use. Has anyone else had this issue or is someone just blowing smoke? Thanks for any help.

Discount tire was successful getting the sensors on my 2018 Grand Design - I thin they said it was a little tight in the fitment department though. I have seem other threads on this issue on other forums...some have had the nuts for sensors milled down so the threads will catch the valve stem. There seems to be a dead space on the nuts that doesn't have threads that can be an issue.

the valve stem and pressure sensor are different parts. Maybe you can order the metal stems from the dealer parts department. I know this because I replaced one of my sensors on my 3500 DRW and the rubber stem the sensor comes with won’t work on my factory wheels but you can easily take the original stem and swap it out with the one that comes with the sensor. If you can get the metal stems for a 3500 front wheel, they should be plenty long.

Just an idea, I don’t know if this will work and there may be better ideas.
