Having ordered the new truck I downloaded the Owners Manual. I ordered the truck with the tri-fold tonneau cover. In the Owners Manual it stated that driving with the tonneau cover in the stowed position is not recommended. No explanation. The cover is stapped down. Anyone running on the road with the tonneau cover installed? Any issues? Pulling a fifth wheel it is going to be a pain taking the thing off and putting it back on. Who makes the cover so I can check their website?

I cannot speak for the factory tri-fold cover personally, but I have mounted a BakFlip F1 cover on a previous 2500 and while I can say that BakFlip appears similar to the factory cover, I did drive on a couple occasions with the BakFlip cover locked via the strap provision. Everything (mounting clips, panels, straps, etc.) held up well during those trips- nothing loosened or became damaged.
