Just posting some odd things I’ve found under the new truck. This is mounted to the front/passenger side of the bed where it meets the back of the cab. Thought it was an odd thing to leave on the truck. The truck is a hemi, 3500 long bed.IMG_9126.jpegIMG_9125.jpeg

I believe that's the exhaust and intake for air suspension compressor

Yep,

As said above I believe that is the filter and line for the rear air suspension should it need to draw outside air.

That’s interesting since I don’t have air suspension. I find it odd that Ram would leave extra parts on the bed. Unless every HD has it on there no matter what.

There are two general philosophies in building things:
a) Make them all as similar as possible, charge what you can get now, charge a fee of some kind for implementing later, but less work to be done.
b) Only put on exactly the components that are needed and absolutely not a penny more. If someone wants an upgrade, bill them the whole cost of labor and parts and research to figure it out.

Both approaches have their fans and detractors. By having a part like that in place, it might make it 5x easier for a dealer to do a field upgrade and be able to be sold to someone that wants the feature.

Some vehicles are being sold with a software activation for a fee system. At least one vehicle on the market has 3 engine power offerings, software select-able. I have offered some van related up-fit products like that. Some people really like the idea, some really hate it.
