I've had a look through most of the threads, forgive me, please, if this has bee done to death.

I want to fit an extra battery or may be two in order to separate non essential loads (meaning ones that run or start the truck) from the supply to accessories such as a winch or compressor or what have you. I don't want to compromise load bed space and I would like to retain space to may be fit an air tank along one sill.

Areas I thought might be suitable include up and under, behind the rear wheel arch - not good for the ideal of short cable runs, or squeezed behind the floor storage. Some form of over chassis hook type bracket to hold a Gp 27 size unit is my thought.

I don't have the double alternator option but a standard diesel 220amp unit should be up to keeping every thing charged unless it gets a good thrashing. There are lots of battery management systems that can do the complex charging jobs. I wouldn't be looking to use a lithium battery just standard lead acid.

Any ideas?
