Can anyone explain why this failed? Bad trailer? Bad connection? Bad weight distribution? this Ford Dually hauling only 2 vehicles flipped in a parking lot..total loss of load. Just educating myself when I start hauling loads.

Yep, I thought it was one of those controversial Anderson Hitches but it wasn’t. Similar idea though, Demo Recon goose ball mount.

No thanks, it doesn’t even lock into the puck system and from what I can see that truck had the factory 5th wheel prep. I saw chains going from the base of the hitch to the trailer and they didn’t break. The hitch looks like it is still attached to the gooseball but the actual top of the hitch failed.

Heavy looking trailer too. They make it with. Ball coupler as well.

I definitely see the appeal of the ’’light’’ hitch for the average consumer who has to multi task his bed but can’t phantom why a commercial truck would be equipped with one. o_O

that hitch has a max king pin weight rating of 4,000 lbs. was probably over that weight if both cars were hauled forward of the trailer axles, add in a little bit too much speed and tings are going to break.

I’ve seen others online where hauling 1 or 2 vehicles all the way forward on a wedge trailer leads to too much leverage and rollovers.

Exactly you should always keep the weight closer to the axles when you are not fully loaded
