Expected MPG: 6.4/3.73

My last 6 have been fairly decent with a high of 14.1! All daily driving of course:
13.0
13.6
13.8
13.4
13.5
14.1

Looking at a 2020 6.4 4wd CC short bed with 3.73 (open). What should I expect in *typical* driving? Towing a 6K travel trailer? thx
i have 20 6.4 4wd cc 8' work body and pulling trailer about 5k im getting 9 to 10 mpg consistant. when i pull the dump trailer 12k its 6 to 7mpg

So we all know the EVIC readings are clearly different than when we calculate by hand. But, has anyone tried to validate that their odometer is actually reading the proper miles?

I hand calculated my MPG for most of the first year going off the assumption the ODO was accurate, but while attempting to follow some unmapped directions over the weekend down a few forest service roads, none of the mileage readings that were given for turning points seemed to match up. I was constantly .2-.3 miles away when I actually found the turns I needed to make. I'll eventually do some testing against my GPS, but if it turns out not to match, clearly all of my MPG calculations will have been off as well.

This was snapped just the other day. We did a fair amount of towing throughout the summer and fall so the 8's and 9's while towing hurt the 13's running around empty a bit. I don't do much empty highway so the 17's just don't happen for me.

Very valid point.

Mine is still off between 2.5 and 3% after I recal’d but it’s close enough for me

For those looking for true 6.4 HD mileage feedback---this is it.

7000+ miles on that trip calc. I challenge anyone to put up a pic of theirs with more miles.

Nicely done not reseting that trip B!

After 7k miles I think I can finally chime in on this.
11 and change in town.
15/16 open highway.

I stand corrected. I thought I read that the tailgate was aluminum too. Worst part is I went around a sample truck with the salesman and a magnet and remember something not happening which did. Getting old is no fun.
Getting old beats the alternative!!!

Drove about 45 mins to sell a Sig and then drove another 45 mins to pick up a fish and then back home. Light Saturday traffic, mostly moving but some under the speed limit.

I hope the Sig is being replaced with something better? Dunno though Sigs are pretty awesome
It’s probably my third p365. I really want to like that gun. But, I just don’t.

It’s ok, though. cash flowed back into the fun money account. Actually had to order some differential parts for the Toyota as I’m converting the front axle to high pinion so the extra cash is welcomed

My truck still has less than 2k miles on it so it may get better with break in but if it doesn't I'm pretty happy with my mpg.
I've taken two trips to the same destination unloaded and loaded with my slide in camper going from sea level to 9000+ feet elevation and back. 660 miles round trip each time. (camper is about 3k loaded + passengers)
unloaded: 16.3 mpg with cruise set at 74 with mixed driving included. 15.5 going and 17 coming home.
loaded: 11.35 mpg with cruise set at 68. 10.2 going and 12.5 coming home. Going home had more crosswinds.
I could probably get a little better mileage with the camper driving slower.
That beats my 1500.
