Exhaust brake mod question

Yes absolutely correct terminals.
So up the gain to .5 with or without resistor?
With resistor thats what makes it think it has a trailer with brakes connected. Also for fun unplug the 7pin you made while the truck is running if it is done correctly it will show that a trailer has been disconnected on the dash

I ran mine around with the gain set to 0 and the EB stayed on through several ignition cycles.

So here's the update.... Installed 10watt 12ohm resistor to correct electric brake and ground terminals with Zero change to EB staying on with several start and stop cycles & the gain from .05 to 1.
So i guess this does not work for my particular 2020 3500 HO Aisin. I wonder what are differences for trucks that are seeing this actually work consistently? Is there a distance sensor to tell if a trailer is actually behind truck?
There has to be something missing from people that actually see this working....

I ran a modified plug with a 12 ohm 8-10 watt resistor on my 2020 HO Aisin prior to getting the Calibrated tunes. It worked as described in this thread including sometimes not working and having to hit the EB button again. As far as gain is concerned I ran it with an 8 gain (didn't want to change my trailer settings) and it worked fine.

All of H3LZSNIP3R's comments are right on. Have no idea why yours is not working. If it works with your trailer plugged in I would say your mod plug wiring is the problem.

This is very odd im not sure whats going on, do you have some pictures of your plug on the inside?

never shows anything plugged in.... tripple confirmed correct terminals

Try turning the resistor around i have seen some that only work one direction even though its not labeled as such.

Does the circuit test setup work? That should be enough to tell if the fuses are good.

Yes, i confirmed fuse is good and seated. Circuits show all continuity is 100% when plugged in. I will try directional change on resistor.

Don't bother trying to reverse the "polarity" on a resistor. There is no such thing. Pure hogwash.

My bad had a brain fart was thinking diode, resistors don't have polarity, yesterday was a long day lol

Looking at your pictures it appears you are wired correctly. You could use a smaller gauge wire for resister to ground, it would be a cleaner connection at the plug. Did you measure the resister's resistance? Maybe its open or bad.

When I towed my TT I've noticed the EB sometimes would stay on and sometimes it wouldn't. A bit later I've realized it would "forget" the EB once the truck is locked. If you're just shutting it off during fuel stops, etc, where you keep the doors unlocked, it would recall the EB setting prior to shutting off.

Interesting. When I was running the modified trailer plug there was no pattern for the EB to be on or off with each ignition. When I locked the truck the EB would still be active/on when I unlocked and started the truck, unlike your experience. The EB not being activated when I started the truck was a rare thing, most of the time it was always activated/on. My brother has the same experience with his 2016 HO and a modified trailer plug.
