Thanks for the Ad... left the EcoD forum now on HD..After 8 years, and 150k of flawless heavy towing/running miles combined on 2 Eco D 4x4 Laramies GDE tuned.. just traded for and picked up a 23 Nite Edition 2500 Cummins crew 4X4 yesterday, will miss the mileage, but not the tow cap... very nice truck. Tow cap fears no more..thanks.

Welcome to the forum.
Thank you Flan, pleasantly surprised to see 21.2mpg on a 55mph road desert highway run yesterday on a 40 mile run, of course empty truck..OE tires, all perfect conditions, and no traffic. Scoured the 2 inch thick manual for "break-in" procedures and finally found it on page 201, yep there it was 500 miles, NO TOWING... user comments on the forum for break-in to tow was wait 500 miles too with the usual horror stories of rattling rear ends later from those that hooked out the door and went for it and some no issues. I guess this is mainly for the rear end to seat. Although tempted, our dual axle flatbed (1900lbs+2100lb 4 seat RZR) leaves me speculating on whether that is enough weight to be concerned for 1 or 2 runs of 20 miles out to our riding spot. Go do it and pay later.. or not.. I suppose. Also had to verify another forum "comment" ref to must keep the truck at max 50mph during the 500-1000 mile tow range of miles (what?), that is tough to swallow as well, hell if I stayed at 50mph cars here on the interstate will slam into you or pass you at 75-80 like you're broke down but good and it would be plain dangerous, have to plan to head out at 5:00AM ... anyway I see you and other legacy forum members point to the 500 mile mark running empty no matter what.. then let er eat. So, I am going with the manual and Ram owners on this one to make sure everything gets set in right...Cheers.

Good idea going with that break in period. The ride home from the dealership I found my truck at was over 500 away so I got that in quick.

Unfortunately, in my highway road quest to hit 500, the Service Def message hit the EVIC, now everything stops till I get to the Dealer...
