Thinking of going down to a 17x9.5 setup. In doing so would bring a lower max tire pressure.

What is the deal with the low tire warning system? Can I lower the setting? Or am I going to have troubles going with a tire that has a max pressure of 65 psi?

Do you have a 3500 or a 2500? I believe the 2500 has the warning system and the 3500 has Tire Pressure Information system (so no warning on the 3500). I changed mine on my 2500 with AlfaOBD. I am running 17" wheels with a 3525 lbs/50psi max tire.

I have a 2019 2500 Laramie with the Off Road Package and Bil leveling kit/springs. After I posted this I dug a bit more. I too have AlfaOBD from my previous 4th gen setup. So, I am pretty sure I can correct it there and be done. Good part is, going down to a 17" e rated 10 ply will also NOT decrease my load capacity, so that is nice. I was just curious since most 17s have a max of 50 to 65 psi.

You can no problems clearing the calipers with your 17s right?

Thanks!

You will have no problem doing the TPMS change. No problems with wheel weights on my wheels. I heard it can be a problem on some though. Mine are Raceline Avengers. The stock E-rated Transfarce only has about 111 lbs higher weight rating than my D-rated Yokos. I could have gone for Toyo 73 x13.50 MTs if I wanted a higher weight rating in a 17". Great tires but I wanted to go back to Yokos again.

That would have been a lot of trimming though

My 2020 Tradesman 3500 diesel has 17s and I run 80 front and 65 in the dually rears.

I'm gonna stick with 35s for now. But I'm going A/T this time. Don't need the muds. Everyone keeps telling me to go wildpeaks. But im still looking. What about the Toyos do you like?

The Toyo MT does great offroad and resists punctures well. Being a true MT, on-road it is a little loud and its manners are not as nice as the ATs. They have always balanced well too. It was a tough decision choosing tires this time around. I went with Yoko AT-X this time because I have had great luck with Yokos in the past and I wanted a hybrid tire this time around. They do well on the road after they are warmed up and do well in the sand when aired down. They also have an MT carcass.

How are running 80 in the rears? Just curious since I haven't seen a 17 carry that max psi.
My 2013 RAM 2500 ran 80 PSI in the rear. My dually runs 80 in the front with the diesel. Running 65 in the rears.

ill have to take a look at those. I have also been looking at the new Mickey Baja Boss AT. Sort of a hybrid as well.

The Baja Boss is a newer tire. I have a friend running 40s on his Jeeps and he is very happy with them. I have run the MTZ on my Jeep and I was happy with them. I did have some issues ripping chunks of tread off them. The Baja Boss is a very interesting tire. I haven't heard any reviews of people using them on HD trucks yet.

I havent either. Part of me wants to try it. But, I might not. I have Toyo Open Country AT III on my truck now (came with them on 20" fuels). They are a pretty decent tire. So, I might stick with it, or go the BFG route. Curious about the Nitto AT tire...Ridge Grappler too.

I know alot of people rec the Falken Wildpeaks....my only reservation is they just look boring. I know thats silly. But, I do like a bit of a good looking tire on my truck (sidewall is what I am referencing).
