Can somebody explain to me why the outside metal valve stems on my dually rims point in? And the inside dual has rubber valve stem and 4" too short to reach the valve cap to fill/empty air? Could they be mounted backwards? I've ordered valve stem extensions to try and rectify situation but was just wondering. This is my first dually. Thanks

No idea...this is not my first dually but the first one where the valve stems were installed in the dumbest way possible.....smh....

All outboard wheels and front wheels have air valves that are mounted the same. I was told by the dealer and a tire shop that the rear outside tires are supposed to face inward. Also if you rotate rear to front it will be accessible as you spin the rear to fit up front and then also spin the front for the rear which puts you in the same boat again.

A dual foot air guage will help for checking air pressure. However I did buy a set of 180 degree air valves for the outboard wheels and air valve extenders for the inboard steel wheels. Has been working fine so far.

Only rotation on a dually is left to right....no front to back....

Thanks guys, there's so many questions I have about this truck, I'm not sure I have that many more trips around the sun to learn all there is to it.

Depends on what wheels you have… steelies can be rotated to any positions… and fronts and rear aluminums can be swapped as the center caps hide any markings from the hub face

They have valve extensions to make the inner wheel easier to get too. I do not have a dually but usually buy one and put it on my spare tire then route it downward. This allows me to check the air without having to lower the tire.

Here’s what you need.

On my ford only one side of the wheel is polished so if you swap a front to rear it looks like ****. Are the Ram wheels polished/coated on both sides ?

Really thats odd every drw ford i have worked on were finished both sides of the outer alloys are you sure they are not just dirty and needing polished….

No they are for sure not polished on one side. They are stamped where they go on the inside of each wheel.
Theses are 19.5's

19.5s are not the same as the 17s on a standard dually
