Dual tank question

My 2025 Cab n Chassis 4500 is at the dealership waiting to get her flatbed. Question is how do the dual tanks operate? Does it switch over automatically when the 52 is low?
Also I don't have any big trips planned this year with the new truck & I have a commuter car so probably won't even need to use the 22 gallon tank. Would it hurt to just leave the 22 empty and use the 52 or would condensation build up in it and be worse than filling both up and just having year old diesel in it next spring...

The second tank automatically pumps to the first one.

The 22gallon tank is your primary tank. The 52 gallon tank is the bulk tank which will transfer fuel to the 22gallon tank anytime it gets below 3/4 full (or thereabouts). This repeats until the bulk tank is empty.

The Main fuel gauge is the combined level of both tanks. You can see the individual tank levels on one of the fuel screens.

12' Scelzi Brothers black diamond plate with 12" black fold down sides and 2 cargo boxes 1 on each side. LED stop and backup lights up in the headboard and in the tail plate. Should look pretty good on the granite crystal truck.

If you aren't going to drive the truck enough to use the fuel on a regular basis and live in a humid area, I'd just keep both tanks full and use some fuel stabilizer/biocide in them. I drive my truck pretty inconsistently, and it sat with fuel in it for about a year while it was built. I put some power service bio kleen in it ahead of time and had no problems in either tank.

12' is quite a bit. The 9' flatbed I have already makes parking an issue. Congrats on getting what you want though! In spite of the downsides, I'm very happy with my CC.

Had to go 12' for my UTV to fit on... I wish we could have had the option for the HO diesel but I haven't got the truck yet to know how she performs loaded with the UTV & pulling my 30' bumper pull trailer...My flatbed is due to be done this week so getting excited.
