Engine light came on, ran ok but seemed to lack power Took it to the dealer and they said DPF was clogged and DPF sensor was bad. Usual spiel about "running it hard" Only use the truck to tow and travel no short trips, I have a beater for that. I use my exhaust brake constantly. Would this have anything to do with my issue? What do you folks think? Thanks. 2022 2500 Ram Diesel, 28,000mi

BTW runs fine, no idiot lights after 1200mi

2022 seems to have more DPF problems than other years. Search on here and you’ll find more info.

Ask the dealer to show you in the owners manual where it says you must “drive it hard”.

These trucks have known DPF issues, particularly on the 2022’s, and they know it. I’m personally growing tired of the song & dance with mine, and am strongly leaning towards the weight loss option.

The DPF is merely the symptom, not the sickness.

That's my plan the day or mile my warranty expires on my 26.

I would suspect the bad senser is more to blame for the clogged DPF then you not running the truck hard enough.

Were you having constant regens? If the DPF is clogged, you should have. If you aren’t having frequent regens, I doubt the DPF is clogged.

Have a 25 Ram 3500 and my Mil came on p2453 and p1c54 codes. Dpf related. My dpf Gauge is barely showing anything. My live data on my code reader is showing it is 85% full. I cleaned the def injector and codes and Mil are still there. Possibly same issue as you. Taking to dealer tomorrow which I'm dreading because they're probably going to tell me it's going to cost $3,000 bucks. Only have 17k miles so warranty should cover I say should.

I just passed 1400 miles on my 26. Last week I got in after eating lunch and it said low def limp mode in 99 miles. Thought no way since when I parked it 30 minutes earlier it had 3/4 tank of def from the dealer when I bought it. As I drove it slowly went back up to 3/4. Please let me know what they say, I have the SCCM being replaced already and will tell them about it at that time.

The subject of this thread is the DPF. DEF issues are an entirely a different thing.

Your Dealer is a comedian....go somewhere else where they have Diesel techs.

I do short drives every day and tow occasionally.
