I have a 2022 Ram 2500 with 59000 miles on it. Last week went to drive the truck, started it up and briefly saw the notice Regen, continue driving but right after that message I got a CEL and the message "exhaust filter full" see dealer, power reduced. I had not looked at my DPF screen so I do not know where I was at. Of course the dealer came back with the DPF needs to be replaced! Struggling a bit with it as it is not cheap and at 59000 it should not fail. So going back and forth with the dealer but doesn't seem like there is much help from that side. Have a case with customer care but have been down that road before. My struggle is it doesn't seem the truck did what it was supposed to do. My understanding is that you get the first message that a regen is happening and if I were checking codes would be P1451... if that did not work I should get a CEL but the filter should not be full but getting there and I could still have a dealer service to hopefully fix... the third one is the full one with power reduced, then all bets are off and it will be getting replaced. My truck did not do that, straight to full, power reduced. That will be my argument and we will see.
No matter what happens I would like to keep a closer watch on my DPF... I have AlfaOBD that I used on my 2015 1500. Wondering if it will be able to monitor, real time, the sensor pressure, temp, and percent full of the DPF. If so, might get an Android tablet and keep connected while truck is in use
