DPF clogged - options?

Hey everyone, it's been a while. I've got a 2020 RAM 3500 6.7l HO with about 46k miles on it now. Took it in for yearly maintenance and it had popped a CEL just before so I had them look at it. Dealer (took it there because of extended warranty) is saying I have a clogged DPF and need a new one plus sensors to the tune of $6800. Seems a bit excessive. I don't know enough about the DPF system to be able to make an educated decision about this, but figured I'd take it to an independent diesel shop before going any further. This seems like a design flaw if I can break such an expensive system so quickly and since it's not covered under the warranty that tells me they know it's gonna break. I guess I'm just at a loss for what to do here.
It’s covered under your power train warranty, and/or the emissions warranty. They are blowing smoke…. (Literally)!

Mileage wise yes but it’s a 2020 he had probably just passed the 5 year mark. But they did cover it he said

Not covered under powertrain warranty and you don’t read the whole thread before posting…

I just went through this with my 2021 Ram 2500 6.7 L with around 76,000 miles, the DPF was corked. It cost me $2500 for a new DPF installed near Sandpoint, Idaho. That is when I found out that my Mopar Extended Warranty DID NOT cover my DPF. For that year, it is 5 years/50k miles.
