Does Ram Care actually care??? I think not!

Are you just trying to get a camera system to add to a trailer?

If so, just build yourself a system….Here’s a way posted below:

That's the AUX analog camera system. AUX1/AUX2 on non-360° trailer surround, AUX2 only on those with 360° trailer system.

The tow mode camera is digital and is the one that shows in the DRVM. It's proprietary to RAM.

Got ya. I’m not familiar with it. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks Brutal

Cant check it out lol it was "discontinued" before it was ever released. AKA false advertising/bait and switch. Absolutely insane. I have a stupid trailer reverse knob because I wanted the Rear view mirror 3.0 with the side view and rear view and NOPE no rear view for you mr pr3dict.

Here’s the better news: There is someone at Ram (Stellantis) who does care. His name is Mike MacDonald. While he really couldn’t expedite the dealer getting the transmission, he proved to be a great resource in a lot of ways. He got us full 100% reimbursement for our $4500 of trip interruption expense. And expedited the payment! After we’d begun driving home, out of the blue, he called to tell me he’d given us their top warranty plan (8 years/125K miles) bumper to bumper with $0 deductible. Worth over $9K! Just for our troubles.
Thanks for the update. Sounds like Mike did you right. But FYI, if he gave you Mopar MaxCare coverage, it's not B2B. It has a lot more exclusions than the factory B2B warranty. Not putting it down, just wanted you to be aware.

I am new to the forum. I have been dealing with a Aisin transmission failure in my 2022 Ram 3500 at about 15,000 miles. It went out on me February of 2023 and it is still at the dealership with no end in sight. It took Ram forever to approve/decide what they wanted to do. Finally they decided to tear down and fix as opposed to putting in a new transmission. Once the local dealership and the engineers at Ram started down this road it's been a never ending circle of the dealership trying to figure out what is wrong , getting approval from the Ram engineers, ordering parts, parts being backordered (including transmission fluid) and then repeating. Currently they have a rebuild kit on order but did not even tear the transmission apart for the second time to diagnose. And the parts are backordered until January. So as it stands my truck has been in the shop for a little over 10 months and the parts are backordered for another month and they don't even know if the parts on order will fix the problem. To top it off Ram customer care (if you can even call it that) has been of np help. They constantly say they will expedite parts but never do and when I said I might need to get a lawyer involved they dropped my case. I had to open up a second one and they have done nothing to help the situation. I would probably just give it back but I have upgrades on it including shocks, tires and rims that they have said they will not reimburse me for. I am 48 years old and this is the most ridiculous and by far the worst car experience I have ever had. In my opinion Ram Care does NOT care!

You have way more patients than I have, I would have already contacted a lemon law attorney!

Yeah, I think most who have dealt with Ram have come to the same conclusion, they don't care. It appears this is how most companies, not just Ram handle warranties now. Exhaust the consumer to the point they give up.

Totally agree. I don't know why more folks don't do that. I went through the process once, worked out great. Takes a little time, but can be well worth it.

Can one invoke the Lemon Law anytime during the warranty period?

Here is Washington state's Lemon Law 'eligibility period':

What is the Eligibility Period?

For a defect to be covered under the Lemon Law it must have had at least one attempt to diagnose or repair under the manufacturer’s warranty and during the Lemon Law’s “eligibility period.” If your Request For Arbitration includes a claim due to ‘days out of service’, the Lemon Law requires that at least 15 or more days must have occurred during the “eligibility period.” See Claim Categories Under The Lemon Law.

The Lemon Law “eligibility period” is not a set time frame. It is often shorter than the manufacturer’s warranty coverage (a manufacturer warranty must cover at least 12 months or 12,000 miles). The “eligibility period” is determined by a mileage limit and a time limit. An ‘attempt to diagnose or repair’ a defect occurred during the “eligibility period” if it was diagnosed or repaired:

  • Within 2 years from the original retail delivery date and
  • Before the vehicle reached 24,000 miles of operation.

24,000 miles of operation seems very restrictive to me, but hey...this is Washington state, home of the lovely carbon tax initiative pushing our gas prices near the highest in the nation. Wahoo!!
