I’ll begin by saying that I’ve already been added to the list of AISIN transmission failures. But this isn’t about the failure of a truck. It’s about the absolute failure to respond by a manufacturer. The hardest part is trying to decide where to begin this post.
I’ll try to keep this brief. My story begins with my wife and I pulling our 35’ 5th wheel, and being stranded on a very rural North Carolina road, with no shoulder, blocking the only lane of traffic in our direction. We called the nearest Ram dealer (as directed by ram care) only to be told “We’re too busy. You need to take it somewhere else”. We then asked where they might recommend we take it, only to hear in response, “Nope. Sorry, I don’t know where to tell you to take it.” it gets worse from there, but again I want to be brief.
It has since been determined that we need an entirely new transmission. I’ve been without my truck for nearly 30 days. Was expecting the new transmission to arrive at the dealership, Tuesday, so we could fly back from Texas and pick it up today. We just learned yesterday that is not happening. Our “priority shipping status“ was “rejected” by ram. I guess my frustration is now centered on; if having a customers near $100K truck for nearly a month doesn’t register as a “priority”, what does?
I have reached out and made contact with a higher level executive with Stellantis. Someone I will not name here, yet, but their title indicates that customer care is their chief concern. It’s been two days since I reached out. After not hearing from this individual after 24 hours, I reached out a 2nd time. That did get a response. This person was supposed to call me today. As of yet, it has not happened. I guess, again, it’s just not a priority.
I see on other threads (not just on the Ram HD forum, but another RV forum as well) involving the ”known” AISIN transmission failures, that it appears as though no class action suits have begun. Well, their failure to respond, or recognize this as a priority, has led me to pursue third-party representation in what I believe will become a class action lawsuit.
For the record, I consider myself a very reasonable person. I understand the trucks and equipment will fail. However, I cannot abide with the absolute disregard or lack of priority I have seen from Ram.
I will keep everyone posted here on my progress. Curious how others may feel.
