Anyone know what this orange strap is for? Looks to be attached to a lever. It's behind removable panels near the parking brake release. Could it be an emergency release for the parking brake?

That releases your 8 speed ZF trans from park so it can be moved (towed) in certain Instances of no electrical power or equipment malfunction. There is a procedure in the owners manual spelling out proper use.
