For just the front bumper i got quoted $499 for xpel. No way i can comprehend that, so i was thinking of doing it myself. I could literally get my bumper repainted for cheaper, or paint matched in linex. Dont really want to debate the whole cost or the PPF. I can buy precut 3m scotguard 10 year for around $200.(the precut xpel online is just as expensive as what i can get it professionally installed for) I have tinted a handful of vehicles, the ppf looks easier than tint. Anyone buy a precut kit and do it themselves? How was the install? Was it harder or easier than you thought?? Have you had any experience prior with films? I know this **** looks easier on video than done, but I still tempted to try! There also isnt a shop locally that does PPF, so maybe I could be the guy! lol We have 2 dealers here with nobody to do it lol

I have not done it but have hung around shops doing my cars. The pre-cut kits remove the biggest risk area, cutting into the paint when trimming.

If you are doing just the bumper, DIY it. The risk is low and if you do screw it up it is easy to reverse and the worse you will be for it is a $200 lesson in how not to apply PPF.

I keep watching videos how to apply it, seems pretty straightforward. I will try it myself whenever my unicorn makes an appearance in the realm.

I'm also looking to DIY a precut kit onto a 2022 Ram 2500 Laramie, but trying to find confirmation that the same precut kit for a 2019-2020 Ram 2500 will also fit the 2022 model year. Can you confirm?
