Disable rear backup sensors when towing?

Is there a way to disable the rear backup sensors/alarm when towing a trailer? It's pretty frustrating to hear the beeping sound the whole time you're trying to focus on backing up the trailer.

Wow.... can't believe I've had the truck for almost 2 months now and never even noticed that button.... thanks!

I am curious if others have their alarms auto disabled when a trailer is connected. That would definitely make sense, but like I said earlier, mine definitely doesn't do that. Is there a setting in AlfaOBD for this maybe?

As soon I put it in tow mode or hook up a trailer it automatically turns off rear sensors.

On both my prior '16 and the current '19; whenever I plug in the 7-way from any trailer, rear parking sensors turn off automatically. I can't remember the '16, but the '19 stays off which seems slightly annoying imo. I haven't ever pulled a brake-less 4-way trailer in forever though to check that.

Speaking from experience this past weekend the 4 pin will NOT disable the back up sensors. I have also noticed if I back up more than 20' with a trailer it seems like the truck overrides the backup sensor off switch? Has anyone else had this same issue?

My 18' dual axle trailer with brakes does not trip the back up alarms. Next time I pull my small trailer (12' with 4 pin, no brakes) I'm going to try plugging it into my 4pin-7pin adapter and see if that tricks the sensors.

I will bet it does not. Takes the pulse from trailer brakes to disable them.

Anxious to hear.

I have to turn mine off when my hitch is in the receiver or they drive me nuts. Never made it far enough to see if they turn off automagically with the trailer connected

You were right. I tried it with the adapter and with the plug in the 4-pin and it kicked on both times. Even with my back-up sensors turned off. Next time I go by my dealer I may ask them to check that as it doesn't seem normal.

Mine is the same i dont have the 4pin so when i use the adapter it wont kick the sensors off

As DevilDodge (post #10) said, it's the trailer brake circuit that automatically disables the rear sensors.
Trailers without brakes, including boat trailers with surge brakes or trailers with defective brakes, will not automatically turn off the sensors.

Or -
Trick your truck into thinking a trailer is in tow.

Use a blank 7 pin RV plug and wire a 12 ohm 8-10 watt resistor to the trailer brake and ground wire slots.

The Rear Park sensors will be disabled.

The Exhaust Brake will always be "On"
Sometimes when starting (after being off for a while) the EB will be "off". Just push EB button to turn back "on"

The towing mileage can be reset to zero anytime.

A Forum Post:
IMPORTANT ! YOU MUST TURN YOUR BRAKE CONTROLLER DOWN TO 0. You dont actually want any current flowing through the resistor.
JFJ Note:
Not sure this is true as I have run it with the controller set at 8 and had no problems, messages or codes.

Or just push the button to turn it off. It remembers the setting and stays off
Yep! The best solution for sure.
I had done the trailer plug mode to keep the exhaust brake on all the time.
Now I don't need it anymore because the latest tune update does it for me.

Mine is hit and miss sometimes it will be on still sometimes not, sometimes tow haul will be on sometimes not and that could be after 10 mins or after a full night its never consistent
