Is there a way to disable the rear backup sensors/alarm when towing a trailer? It's pretty frustrating to hear the beeping sound the whole time you're trying to focus on backing up the trailer.
As soon I put it in tow mode or hook up a trailer it automatically turns off rear sensors.Wow.... can't believe I've had the truck for almost 2 months now and never even noticed that button.... thanks!
I am curious if others have their alarms auto disabled when a trailer is connected. That would definitely make sense, but like I said earlier, mine definitely doesn't do that. Is there a setting in AlfaOBD for this maybe?

I will bet it does not. Takes the pulse from trailer brakes to disable them.Speaking from experience this past weekend the 4 pin will NOT disable the back up sensors. I have also noticed if I back up more than 20' with a trailer it seems like the truck overrides the backup sensor off switch? Has anyone else had this same issue?
My 18' dual axle trailer with brakes does not trip the back up alarms. Next time I pull my small trailer (12' with 4 pin, no brakes) I'm going to try plugging it into my 4pin-7pin adapter and see if that tricks the sensors.
You were right. I tried it with the adapter and with the plug in the 4-pin and it kicked on both times. Even with my back-up sensors turned off. Next time I go by my dealer I may ask them to check that as it doesn't seem normal.I will bet it does not. Takes the pulse from trailer brakes to disable them.
Anxious to hear.
Mine is the same i dont have the 4pin so when i use the adapter it wont kick the sensors offYou were right. I tried it with the adapter and with the plug in the 4-pin and it kicked on both times. Yep! The best solution for sure.Or just push the button to turn it off. It remembers the setting and stays off
Mine is hit and miss sometimes it will be on still sometimes not, sometimes tow haul will be on sometimes not and that could be after 10 mins or after a full night its never consistentYep! The best solution for sure.
I had done the trailer plug mode to keep the exhaust brake on all the time.
Now I don't need it anymore because the latest tune update does it for me.
