Hi Guys,

My 22 CTD is my first diesel and loving it so far. I have a question for those that have more miles under your belt with these diesels. The CTD is a smooth runner but sometimes I notice kind of a "chugging" sensation when underway. It doesn't feel like anything bad like torque converter slip or something with the trans. It maybe just the nature of a diesel. The sensation almost mimicks the sound of the motor too.

Do any of you notice that "chugging" feel when accelerating or moving along. Not sure how to describe it other than almost like a constant small misfire but not that dramatic.

Thanks for sharing.

Monitor boost level when you’re experiencing it.

I wager it’s when the engine is trying to lug a gear it shouldn’t, and boost is jumping around as a result.

Keep an eye on your tach. Make a note of what RPM you are at when it's running normally and whether or not the RPM changes when it starts chugging.

Is your A/C on when this happens?
