Diamond plate toolbox

I want to put a diamond plate toolbox in my truck when it arrives, picking it up this weekend. I like the storage for RV trips etc, don’t care for canopies or bed covers, plus I think it looks nice in CC long bed. Any thoughts on a good one for up to $500?

Unfortunately you’re not going to find a good quality one for $500 any more, my low end Weatherguard was still over $700. I have a couple old TSC and DeeZee boxes that were only around $300 (25 years ago) that are actually better quality, I just wanted gull wing so I had to get a new one, my old ones are the single lid…

I just checked my old Amazon orders, the price of the one I bought last spring has gone up over $250 since I got it…

Tractor Supply has decent boxes. Like most accessories, you'll get a lot of different opinions on quality. The last time I was in the store I looked at a few they had. Some had thicker lids and seemed more sturdy than others. But they have several in your price point.

Thanks for the suggestions. The use is light, I’m not a contractor, so one of those may work. Also pondering black or chrome diamond plate. Truck is bright white with the chrome package, adding gloss milled black wheels soon. So it will be a white/chrome/black look to the truck.

Well I found one. The $4-500 ones were too junky and terrible welds. I went with a nice Weatherguard, in satin black diamond plate $799. Good quality and I think it looks pretty sharp!

I used to buy UWS but their quality has been dogwater on the last two I’ve bought. Wouldn’t buy again. Don’t think you’ll find a good new one for under 5 bills.
