Been around the forums for a while, figured it was time to say Hi!

We upgraded our popup to a travel trailer in May. Drove out to Cali from Denver to buy a used trailer. 2018.5 Lance 2185 in really good condition and a great price considering the market (bad timing to try and upgrade). My 1500 pulled it alright, I guess (trailer is 6k max). Problem was the payload capacity. With just the fam in the truck (wife, 3yo, 1yo and 2 dogs), we were most likely over and would need to be careful about what we brougth and how we loaded it in the trailer. Oh....and the kids aren't allowed to get any bigger! :p We talked about selling the trailer and looking for a different one, but we reeeeeeaaaaallly like this one so....new truck! Picked up a 2020 Laramie Night Edition with the Hemi. Truck was an unexpected purchase, bittersweet to say. I loved my 1500, really didn't want to get rid of it. But I screwed up and didn't do proper research before purchasing the trailer. Oops! I now have a spreadsheet I'll use when shopping the next truck or trailer to make sure we're all good. Lesson learned.

Maybe I'll like this one as much afer I make it my own. Getting used to the noisy 6.4 has been a bit of a struggle for me, hoping a new muffler or custom exhaust will help with that. Also need to get my stereo system installed. Had just gotten the system in the old truck finished and tuned (3 way front, 12" sub, dsp, 2 amps, 40lbs of sound deading which didn't help my payload issue), sounded awesome! Fortunately I did the install in such a way that I could return it all back to stock and keep everything but the sound deadening. Took me about 2 hrs to rip it all out and get the stock speakers back in after countless hours to do the install and tune.

Pics!!!

Old truck in Cali picking up the trailer. Holy squat! Didn't help that the weight distribution hitch wasn't setup properly for my truck. Even after getting it propertly adjusted when I got home, I still needed airbags to help with the squat/ride quality.

New truck same trailer...much better! Already added a softopper and tinted the windows. Love the versatility of the softopper so far. Takes 5 min to put it on or take it off when needed and, best part, I can do it myself! Tows MUCH better. Don't really notice the trailer around town, but do feel it a little bit at higher elevations (10k+). Haven't done the Ike gauntlet yet, but I'm sure it'll happen eventually lol.

Welcome from the south side (Roxborough). Great looking truck. I debated a long time over that or the Billet, but still love that color.

I'm south side too, Lone Tree area.

It was one of the few in the area that fit the bill. Trucks are hard to find these days!
