Hi all,
I wanted to share that after 1100 miles my DEF pump went out. Guess it is not too common but happened to me.
I was up at my cabin and noticed that my truck was dropping def fluid from the gauge. One I stopped and turned off the truck the gauge eventually went it went back to full.
Recorded a video of the issue after reproducing it twice. Seemed to happen more on windy switchback roads. Does not occur on freeway driving.
Also, hooked up a scanner did not pull any def issues. The RAM app is clean too.
Anyways, I took my truck to the dealer and within a day got a call from the service advisor saying that they need to replace the DEF pump.
Long story short, it was ordered last Wednesday and will take 11 days, glad it is getting fixed and looking forward to getting it back. Next will need to get an extended warranty for peace of mind.
Taking my (2) 110lb German Shepherd dogs, and a spare tire for my boat trailer to my cabin this weekend in my 3 series Bimmer (commuter mobile) ...should be fun...lol.
