DEF Mileages?

So totally new truck, picked it up with 40 miles on it and a full tank of DEF. I have just shy of 1400 miles on it, mixed driving and no towing. I’m at a tad bit over half tank for my DEF. Is this normal or will it get better?
 
i get between 400 and 600 miles per gallon depending on how I am using the truck.
 
So it seems this is pretty on par and I’m hoping with fresh non-dealer def it might last longer.
 
I just went from Portland Oregon to Northern Wisconsin, 2100 miles and used 2 3/4 gallons in 2 days last week. Had to by pass Minneapolis on some county roads for a while to make it up to I-94 from I-90.
 
When i bought the truck new i filled up the DEF fluid, and at about 3050 miles I gave me the warning 200 miles until truck goes into limp mode for Empty DEF. So 5 gallons divided by 3250, would be 650 miles per gallon.
 
Yeah, it uses a lot of DEF, so I guess you could say it's normal for a '19/'20 Cummins.
 
Just a fyi because I didn't know till I found it. There's a funnel for DEF under the front passenger seat. Weird RAM put it there instead of under the drivers seat.
 
Last DEF fillup: 2.385 gallons, 1640 miles, so 687.6 mpg. 240 of those miles were towing 17k.

Ha Ha that makes sense. I've only had my truck since June 22 (ordered may 6th) and kinda play with stuff to figure it out but I guess I should crack the manual open and read a little too.
 
Something is wrong with mine than... Filled it up at 1700 miles... have 2300 now and need to fill again... Im on the red. :( Hopefully the tune I order this week will take care of that :)
 
Personally, I plan on getting 200k+ out of the 1/2 tank of DEF that was in the truck when I bought it! Wink, Wink, nod, nod, Bob's your uncle!

Works good, though, when all you can find is 1 gallon jugs of DEF.
