Dealership oil change

Sorry I've left everyone hanging. Bearings were good, cam and rockers are scored, didn't mention anything about the piston skirts or cylinder walls. New long block is on its way, now I just have to wait for it.
So did the dash cam come into play? Was it a simple "we'll make it right?" Or did you push them?

Thanks for the update btw

I always check oil level and torque my lugs after a dealer oil change and tire rotation. I do it right in the service lane when they bring my truck back up front. Service writer was like "what, you don't trust us?". It's not that I don't trust you, I don't trust anyone. I'm not driving 20-30 minutes home on low or over filled oil, or loose lug nuts, because the greenhorn tech messed up. Then I get to argue with them about it after the fact. Nope. Been there, done that. I also get to do a visual inspection of the engine bay because one time the jamokes dumped oil all over the place and half-assedly cleaned it up. Come on, man. Take that sheeeit back to detail, throw some degreaser on it and hose it off.
If you are going to check their work why not just do it yourself? its much cheaper.

Because it takes me 2 minutes to check the oil level and torque on the lugs without having to break out ramps, jacks and jack stands. Your argument makes no sense.

Its not an argument its a question…. If you are that leery of others working on your stuff why not do it yourself for the piece of mind?

I will, eventually. I get all my service done at the dealer while my vehicles are still under factory warranty. In case shtuff happens where a major component requires warranty replacement. There's no question about the maintenance history. It's in their system, they did it. That's my "peace of mind".

I don’t know if it was my truck I would be getting a new one from them and not paying much for the difference!
I think that’s what you should be going for!
