Dead starter

Where is Ram Cares ????...........
My same thought. As I started reading this thread I thought for sure I'd see a post from RAM Cares. Have you (OP) opened a case with them?

I opened a case today after:

I called the dealer again and told them I had an aftermarket starter. The "advisor" told me that putting it in, even temporarily, would void my warranty. That was a complete lie, I confirmed with customer service that it would only matter if it caused another part to fail in the future.

I'm probably going to have to pay out of pocket to get it towed away to another dealer. I'm afraid that they may not have properly diagnosed the problem, and that would be an issue if I just do the starter myself. And I think they would cause a problem if I did it in their parking lot.

I have gotten 0 customer service from these guys. Not so much as a "sorry this is taking so long, here is ______." No rental, no reimbursement, just a long string of NOs.

Good plan moving on to a different dealer. It's a shame how a quickly a dealer can deflate the excitement of owning a new vehicle. Hopefully you'll find a dealer that you enjoy working with.....they do exist!

So there is a "heavy duty truck center" associated with the dealer. I guess they normally do all the 2500+ work. I just called them, explained my situation, and they put the ebay starter in today. They will call me when the oe starter comes in and finish it. I had to pay the labor for the the starter but that should be it. Turns out my whole problem was a really bad "advisor" who doesn't want to help anyone.

Glad you were able to get to someone who was willing to help. My dealer also has an HD service desk, they are much better than the regular service writers
