Hi everyone, I ordered a plug for my 2019 5th gen cummins and I am wondering if it matters which way I plug my cord into the unit already installed. It seems like it’s in a weird position and that either way I do it I will have to keep it away from hot things.
Thanks everyone!

The block heater doesn't care which way you plug the cord into it. And as you've noted, avoid the hot things and moving parts. Welcome to HDRAMS!

Any pics of how u ran it? And where all thouse clips go I can't figure it out lol... Also anyone with a stock one can share pics???

Not a 19 but cord install should be similar:

Seen that video but it lacks explanation on where all the factory push buttons go into and where the plug routes and ends..... And it's a 18 the 19s I believe routed different any pics of the 19 routes

If you have the cord I'll assume that it came without any instructions. Furthermore, and if you do indeed have the cord, have you at least attempted to install it? The 18s and 19s do not differ appreciably in the way the cord is routed except that the plug on some is routed up near the right tow hook. Last but not least, find a dealer with a CTD HD that has the cold weather package and convince them that you need to crawl under the front end to inspect the block heater cord installation. Tell em it's a matter of life or freezing. ;)

No instructions. I did install it put I couldn't find where all the push plugs plug into the frame and body I did best I could but nothing great was wondering if anyone did a write up on a 19 as it is a lil different and that video doesn't show exactly how he routed it and where he pushed the plugs in..... Maybe a schematic would b good lol

Some trivia: Notwithstanding the push pins and tie wraps that may or may not come with these cords, the basic cord has been the same for 30 yrs. They're all six ft long. One end plugs into the block heater and the other end is routed to the pointy end of the truck. Keep it away from hot stuff and moving parts and you should be ok. Supposed to warm up a bit on Sat so will slide under the front end and examine the factory install to determine if there is stuff worthy of a picture or two.

Factory install. There are a couple or three zip ties used as well but they're hard to see. One near the oil filter where the cord heads down to the frame rail and a couple up front where the cord terminates in front of the intercooler and inside the centre of the air dam below the bumper. The cord route past the R/H side of the intercooler is very tight - PITA to get in there. I'd opt for routing it past the inside of the rad support to the back side of the air dam. There's enough give in the plastic parts/pieces to get the cord through.
