Cummins B6.7 Recall Fuel Pre-heater recall

I just read the full article, an as it may appear that the vehicles mostly affected are buses, e vehicles, etc. It does not clearly say one way or the other if its just limited to those type vehicles or more widely spread an includes those vehicles. I called the Cummins hotline an the transportation hotline an they both said they can't help me with if my vin has this part or not an to contact dodge. So I called dodge an they just give the generic answer of we can't tell you anything untill it's posted for everyone to see on all the public recall sites. I'm thinking the only way to find out early would be if anyone knew a parts guy who could see what fuel heater part # was on your vin.

Cummins used to be somewhat helpful when you'd call to ask a Dodge related question, but now they just blow you off. I have only called a few times in 15 or so years, but there is definite culture change there through the years. Too bad.

you guys are going to give yourselves heart attacks. It's almost like you're looking for something to be upset about. try to relax, there's enough to stress over right now with out looking for more. :)

I gotcha but you got you understand to , that I'm trying to figure it out because mine is at the dealership right now an if I can get it corrected before I take ownership, that's what I'm going to do. Don't want to buy a brand new rig with already 2 recalls on it. If i already owned it any it was signed on an in the drive way, i could care less an there wouldn't be such urgency , buts that's my outlook on my particular situation.

The NHTSA letter says the remedy is still under development as of 4/3, so I doubt any fix, if it affects our engine, will be around for at least a month or two.

the B 6.7 is designed and specked for Motor-homes, School buss , Fire and Emergency trucks not the Cummins 6.7 in Rams trucks. The article for the re-call does specify this.

I get it, i'm in the same boat as you, as my truck will be arriving next week more than likely. I'm just not going to get myself all jacked up over a recall that's pretty clearly not about the engine in my vehicle.

Thanks guys, i appreciate the help. I just misunderstood it i guess. I couldn't see were they were clear about who it did an did not affect.
