CP4 recall thread (merged threads) - Y78 Jan 2022 recall campaign - Parts Available May 10 for 2020 trucks only

@RamCares could you provide the submission requirements for cp3 replacement, outside of the factory, please?
Hi elephantrider,
The repair for this recall will be a new CP3 with a flash. Please note, replacing the CP4 with a CP3 on your own does not complete the recall and will still require dealer service to have the flash portion completed once available.

I know estimates say q1 for part availability but my recall notice still says parts are not available, is anyone hearing otherwise? I would love to get this done before this spring but am not feeling too hopeful.

Drive your truck, if it blows you go to the front of the line!

I daily drive my truck to commute to work. 55k miles on my 2020 drw 3500 with a 11/20 build date. Not concerned with it blowing up on a daily bassis. My concern is the multiple 1k mile trips I have planned with my family and 3 dogs towing my fifth wheel. It would be more than an inconvenience if i broke down on the road. I bought this truck to eliminate the constant stress of towing with a 68rfe that tried to kill us on several occasions.

That is great news....I was fearing another CP4 in place of the CP4.... She's a keeper now !!

Well at least if your truck blows up you got your camper to hang out in with your dogs. Wife’s probably gonna be pissed I’d leave her outside.

Reminds me of something I heard as a joke a few years ago....lock your wife and dog into the trunk of a car and walk away. After an hour go back and let them out. Which one is happy to see you?

Can we get any conformation if you do the cp3 conversion and get the reimbursement for it. Does that cancel all the warranties on truck?

I don't see how FCA could reimburse you, then turn around and deny warranty, but hey anything is possible, a lot of failure points in that system. I don't think anyone has data on it, maybe @RamCares can shed some light?

Also, you wouldn't lose all warranties on the truck, just the engine/fuel system.

I just got a email from nhtsa

[MOD: Compliments of @Jimmy07 :]

Here’s two advanced communications for it:
Just called FCA recall department today for a update and they informed me that May 10, 2022 the parts for the HPFP will be sent out. Now they still haven’t said what the actual fix is. I’m hoping it’s just a CP3 conversion but can’t say for certain.

@RamCares, any word on when the parts are to be available? I have a 2000 mile trip coming up early April and it would be nice to have this done before then so I don't have to wonder about that.
May 10, 2022 was confirmed by the recall dept. at FCA. But when I asked about the actual fix they could not give me any info. I contacted them today and trying to spread the word.
