CP4 Precautions - Fuel Additives?

I'm not one of the CP4 doomsdayers but it probably wouldnt hurt to try some preventative measures in an attempt to extend the life of my 2020 CP4. With lubrication being the main cause of failures I have been trying to do some research on fuel additives that predominantly keep the injectors clean and the CP4 lubricated.... It seems the popular choice are Hot Shot Secrets products but I wanted to see if/what other people are using. Who uses additives and what is it?

Im leaning towards Hot Shot EDT for each fuel up. Affordable, can be bought in bulk, and will help with lubrication and cleanliness. Thoughts?

Either the EDT or optilube Xpd or any of their products. They have multiple different ones.

I not worried about the pump on my 2020 either. I suspect most additives will do the job but I have chosen to use Hot Shots as well.
I called Hot Shots and they were good about explaining there products.
I buy right from their site. They ship for free. If arrives quickly.
In my truck I store the products in the drivers side floor bin. I keep the bottles in a big plastic bag and a funnel and rags in another plastic bag. I tried pouring the additive in without a funnel and made a mess. Works for me. Hope this helps

If you are more after protecting your CP4, go with LX4 instead of EDT.
It's true that EDT contains some LX4, but not to the level of a full dose of LX4.
LX4 in both cases is what protect the CP4.

Cold weather I am using winter anti gel and LX4. Rest of the year I’m going to use EDT and LX4.

Search additive and theres a ton of disscussions already on them. My solution was: using a gallon of edt with a extra bottle of lx4 added to it to boost the lx4 concentration. It meets all needs i have for additives even in winter and with a cp4....

Sound advice. I like this idea.

EDT when it's warm, DWAG when it's not. Add additional LX4 year round. I use the recommended concentrations of EDT / DWAG and add half the recommended concentration of LX4. I have the gallon jugs with 1 oz pumps in them (bought the pumps on Amazon). I carry a spare, premixed bottle in the truck just in case. I usually just fill up with diesel on the way home and add the additives when I get home. Road trips I carry the gallon jugs in the bed.

How well does that stuff stay in suspension? I've got a 55 gallon tanks an only drive on weekends for any miles. A tank of fuel lasts me about a month.

I would assume the oils and or solvents in the stuff would stay all or 99% all mixed in fuel almost indefinitely. If not a few miles down the road aught to easily mix stuff up again.

So is this working out to $4.50 a tank of fuel on a stock fuel tank.
