Coolant Smell

I’ve learned my lesson re pics and vids. Coolant leaks, rfe 68 trans issues, check engine light, engine brake not working AND take vid of exterior of truck while in the service line. Dealership scratched and dented passenger door. They did make good by bodywork and paint

Dealer called at 1:00pm today. They’re going to fix the coolant leak around the block heater and replace the element itself but they won’t have it for a week or so. At first they said they couldn’t find any coolant leaking, but after emailing them pictures I took (posted in this thread previously) they called back and said they found it and are going to address it. They also said the truck passed pressure test.
Ive dealt with coolant leaks on vehicles where they will only leak stone cold. When they pressure tested it maybe it was slightly warm already.

I thought the same thing. But the truck sat at the dealer overnight in 20°F weather. Would’ve only been running long enough to get it in the garage (I would think). Unless they had it running for a while for testing

All these little seeps almost don't seem like they're worth chasing. I noticed mine wreaking of coolant from day 1 but at 54k, still haven't added coolant and either I'm getting used to the smell or the seeps have sealed up. Even if I'd had to add a bit of coolant here and there, it almost doesn't seem like it's worth chasing. They're not hurting anything, just stink a bit. And I hate going to the dealer.

It is a bit shocking seeing all these NPT leaks. And you can even see the sealant on some of them. I wonder if they used inferior thread sealant or just not enough or didn't get the fittings tight enough or what? I've never had a problem with threaded connections leaking coolant. I'm sure I get them plenty tight enough, then tighten them just a bit more.
