Convex Main Mirror Upgrade?

The new mirror design for 2023 is pretty sick and telescopes now, but I doubt it will be an easy swap if you want all the functionality

Is the passenger side main mirror flat like it is on the current mirror?
I would rather have the mirror back that was on my '17 1500 on that side, I could see a whole lot more a whole lot better. It was a nice large relatively wide angled mirror that showed me everything I needed to see. The only way it might have been improved is to be on a longer arm like the tow mirror.

Should be a straight forward swap for the non power telescoping mirrors but even the power telescoping mirrors should be able to work somehow im sure

Couldn’t launch the lil’ boat last week without adjusting the passenger from normal first, pretty ridiculous.

Hard to be 100% sure but counts like there is an additional camera in the mirror that gives a more rearward facing view? I'd imagine that may be tricky to swap and get that functionality without replacing the head unit with a UC5 option. Either way, I highly doubt that the 360 camera is a standard item now, so it will probably still be something that is relatively easy to swap over, or so I'd hope.

The only cameras in those mirrors are the surround view cameras just like previous years. Using the turn signal will automatically bring up the left or right mirror view, just like these soft keys do on the 2022 UC5 radios:

Front and rear cameras will automatically come up when the park assist sensors start to beep, also.

Sounds like Ram is finally catching up to some of the obvious things that have been missing. Kind of shocked that some of these are not simple software updates to be honest.

The additional rear facing camera on the mirror of some of the 2023s that have been shown is for the new Digital Rear View Mirror 3.0. It has a Split View option that shows the view from those cameras on the sides and the trailer camera in the middle.

Any idea if these could be retrofitted on a '22 and be able to use all of the features? It looks like the window switch will fit the current door panels, im sure the door module and BCM coding would be the big issue?

The BCM will be the biggest issue because the pre-2023 BCMs won’t be capable of any of the new features, even with AlfaOBD settings changes.
New door modules will be needed for sure. Possibly wire/connector rearrangement on the door harness connectors that plug into the new door modules depending how different they are.

As soon as parts becomes available to buy, I’ll be getting a pair of mirrors, door modules, switch, and 2023 BCM, and see if I can make them work. I’ll probably have to pull off some VIN configuration trickery using the micropod.

Just got a 2019 Ram 2500 and the passenger mirror is driving me nuts. I came across this thread and was pretty excited to see suma making a replacement, but pre-orders are closed :( Hope to see it open again soon.

They hit my card already, waiting

Nothing here yet. I am waiting on feedback from others since my truck is in storage for the winter.

So any word on these? I thought I'd just get used to the mirror but it's taking longer or I just can't used to it because I'm switching between vehicles.
