Constant dead truck

Hello all,

Curious if anyone has had the issues im having and what the possible fix was. I have owned my 24 2500 diesel for 6 months. It was dead a few weeks after I purchased it and taken into service the first time and they said they charged the batteries no issues found.

2 weeks later truck dead again had to be towed to the dealer on Stellantis dime. Their solution was saying both batteries were bad so they replaced.

3 weeks after that same thing had to be towed to the dealer on their dime again. Their solution 1 battery was bad.

Now two weeks after that it’s dead again and being towed to the dealer tomorrow. Truck only has 24k miles. Batteries are so dead they are down to 7 volts this time and the prior two. This is my first Ram and I love the truck but its reliability is horrible.

Battery's going down that far will be almost impossible to recover hence the replacements. The problem is not one of the dealers actually checked why the battery's keep going flat. 7volts means its being drained by something.
Tell the dealer the vehicle is going too now you want a current draw test done overnight. Something is not going to sleep or waking up multiple times while the vehicle is not used.
Do you have any accessories fitted to the truck?

Thats what I was going to tell them. Nope nothing at all 100% stock. Alternator is running 14/14.1 while running. I’m hoping this is not going to require me to begin the lemon law process. Ive only been able to put around 1100-1200 miles on it in 6 months of ownership and unfortunately am not even getting a loaner.

They need to test the battery draw after the truck has been sitting for an hour. It takes that long for all the modules in the truck to go to sleep. It's not rocket science but it does take someone that knows what they are doing. Anything more than around 30 milliamps is going to kill your batteries in a couple of weeks. Also make sure that the dealer hasn't nstalled a tracker on it.
 
I don't know if any of these Rams have this feature, but I know our Jeep Grand Cherokee was randomly draining the battery overnight when we first got it. After it happened a few times, and we got a replacement battery, I found some forum post that indicated this could be due to the proximity of the keyfob to the vehicle was right on the edge of connection and was causing some proximity wake up feature to kick in over and over again like we were walking up to the car. If I remember correctly it would even turn on the headlights for 30 seconds or so. I disabled the feature entirely in the settings and the battery has not drained since.
 
As noted above, once a battery drops below 10vdc, permanent damage occurs but you can charge it back up and it'll work at reduced capacity. 7vdc is hard to recover from.

The problem is more with the inept trouble shooting skills of the dealership than a reliability problem.

I had this issue or very similar. Started keeping the FOBs in a Farady and no issues since.
 
My truck sits outside my bedroom window, my FOB is on the dresser by the window...never had an issue? Probably 30 feet away.

I *think* it has to do with distance or how good the signal is. In my case at least, the FOBs were probably at a range where maybe they were connecting to the truck, then disconnecting, etc. So maybe the truck was waking up the EVIC every time the signal dropped and then was re-acquired. Or maybe not and like a few other issues, some trucks have the problem, others don't. In any case, the Faraday worked to fix it for me, perhaps the OP can try that and see if it works for their truck.
