That’s a good call. I do not have the cold weather package to my knowledge
It’s interesting all the technology nowadays

Did it and got it to idle up to 1,400 rpm it’s like a plane taking off haha still no exhaust break light that comes on I can turn it on and to auto and to off and nothing changes

The light does not come on but you can hear it get slightly deeper tone. And it will not come on when you do manual high idle by using cruise..Did it and got it to idle up to 1,400 rpm it’s like a plane taking off haha still no exhaust break light that comes on I can turn it on and to auto and to off and nothing changes

Remote started the truck today @37° without the heater cord attached* and both high idle and exhaust brake engaged. EB light was not on when I entered the truck. came off high idle when I stepped on the brake but EB stayed on until I put it in gear.
* It only comes on via my home automation below 30° so it wouldn't have mattered anyway.
There must be a difference in the cold weather package and not. My assumption is that there is a tire for and not for cold weather and how it reacts @ram does this make sense ?

I don't think there's any such thing. I think some of you old farts are deaf or don't know what an idling 6.7L Cummins Diesel with the exhaust brake engaged sounds like.
The OM is clear on the function of this warm up feature in RAM Diesel trucks and does not differentiate between any "cold weather packages," of which there are none other than the block heater cord and front cover.
NOTE:
Engine idle speed will automatically increase
to 1,000 RPM and engage the Variable
Geometry Turbocharger at low coolant
temperatures to improve engine warm-up.

There are, of course, packages and trims with heated seats and wheel, but there is no cold weather "package" I've ever seen.
Older diesels had a rough time of it during winter.I will echo what Brutal is saying, mine goes into high idle shortly after starting(I usually always use remote) and then quickly changes tone and volume as the exhaust brake engages. There is no dash light to indicate this.
There is a noticeable difference between a cold start with exhaust brake and just a normal high idle that I might manually engage before say running into the store. I have yet to start it anything below teens and 20s because we've had a mild winter but it engages above 30 maybe even 40s.
Also, like Brutal said, I highly doubt this is limited to any package. I have the SO motor with cold weather package but that is just a block heater and grill cover.
I set my truck on a timer with the block heater in the mornings that I drive it to work but even without using it this thing warms up extremely quickly. I never bothered with installing the grill cover(I think I have the 2019 one that's on TSB for blocking the radar?) This is my first diesel but I was under the impression they took forever to warm up, this is probably one of the biggest misconceptions I've had owning this Cummins.

You should put the cover on even though you have heat you most likely are not at proper operating temps of 190 if it does not keep a consistent 190 you can run into egr and dpf issues.... on the 11-12 cummins they even upped it to a 200 degree t stat because the dpf and egr were trouble some at 190.
I have had no issue i could not plug my truck in yesterday and it started at -35It appears -32C(-25F) is the limit for my truck. Had it plugged in for a couple of days and wouldn't start this morning. Lots of battery juice but it won't even try to start. Nothing with remote start or manual start. Seems like the ECM/PCM is frozen or something. I'll try again this afternoon when it "warms up" to -25C![]()
