If you don’t mind me halfway derailing your thread I’d also like to know if anyone here has relocated their backup camera to a flat bed.

Those beds sure are pretty I just can’t ever keep the paint nice.

I've done that on a previous truck, not that difficult on the Fords. The Ram ones you would just make fixture to hold it behind the bed and obviously drill a hole for it to protrude.

You can also use a rubber grommet from a 3/4” bullet light to hold camera.

That's what I did on my service truck but modified the camera bracket to fit in the tool body. Gave it a clean look and still kept compartment water tight. I just bought an assortment of them off Ebay to find one that fit good.

Were you guys able to somehow get the stock camera out of the tailgate handle or did you have to purchase a new camera? I’ve got a part number for a stock camera by itself somewhere but would love to just utilize the one I already have.

To somewhat answer the OP’s original question, my cousin has a JI Mfg bed on his 19. It’s just a standard skirted flat bed but it doesn’t fit all that great and appears to be more suited to a 4th gen. Has a larger gap between the headache rack and the can than he or I would prefer but he got a stupid good deal on it in early ‘20. I’ve seen a ton of good looking standard skirted CM beds that appear to fit better on 5th gens around here in Texas. Most dealers will not relocate the camera though.

The one guy I knew that did it just bought another camera from Ebay.

I've looked at other bed makers and it seems like CM is the best looking/ well built

CM, along with Herrin and Neckover are the most popular here in Texas.

I've ordered the 3500 and the bed. Truck will be in late May or early June. CM says six months for bed, so we'll see.

I was going to wait and order one whenever the truck shows up. I got a dually instead of C/C, so no huge rush to get it done on day 1

The dealer I talked to said order now to get by end of summer

Congrats man welcome to the build wait. The wait feels like forever but sounds like it may work out to where they’ll be in around the same time.

The powder coating is never the best in my opinion. Not knocking powder , just this application. It does look good for now. Fyi this one was 9300.00 in case you were curious.

Yeah I want to order a bed in primer then paint it. I'd seen several beds that weren't that old but looked 10 yrs old just from the coating coming off and getting rusty spots.

spend the extra and have it clear coated too. Make sure it always looks just as good as the rest of the truck.
