I finally did it. I forgot to close the tailgate with my dump trailer attached and crunch. Very stupid oversight and likely to be expensive. Learn from my mistake - close your tailgates

It can be enabled on the 1500, the HD's don't have the hardware for it.

Tailgate took a ride on the trailer jack handle after 3rd day of ownership . Wasn't use to the tonneau cover. It's nice to get this stuff out of the way early on! LOL

They fall open autonomously, are recalled for it and when inadvertently opened via the fob or switch cluster. If my shell door wouldn’t preclude incidental opening, a gate latch of some sort would be on it.
