Clearance/Marker Lights

Glad mine has them factory installed. Running a 3500 DRW as a commercial vehicle, they are required
 
All DRW have them standard as they are over the width that requires them, SRW is under that width so no cab lights are standard. I ordered a SRW with the plow package and it includes them.

Yep, because some plows put you over the width as well.
 
Updated review of the same wireless clearance lights. Looks like the manufacturer has made some very good improvements.
 
If that was a consideration why don't put them on 1500's also?
Can a 1500 be ordered with a plow package?

This is for the 2018 lights but placement is the same as the 2019/2020.
Wiring is different, I found switched power at the passenger-right kick panel.
You do not have to fully remove the headliner, just pull down the front section and let it hang enough to get your hands in there.
I talked a local dodge dealer into installing the part# you gave. They asked what else is different? Is it just the power is on the passenger kick panel instead of the driver side? Any modifying the harness it came with?

I ordered my RAM Tradesman PW with only three options: 8.4 screen, brake controller, and clearance lights. They were cheap to add and lend themselves to Tim Allen man grunts of delight.

That, and now that the 1500 and 2500 look so similar, it helps to differentiate them for the unknowing.

Wat. The 2500 and 1500 have looked the same for decades. Now with the 2019+ 4.5 Gen they actually DO look different since the headlights are not shared.

also interesting the Tradesman Power Wagon doesnt come standard with cab lights, the trim level Power Wagon has them included.
 
I think it is quite funny that people think the cab lights are for width clearance--LOL.. If this were indeed the case, your lights would be on the sides of your truck.

Clearance lights, this is why and how they are used: roof mounted for VERTICAL clearance! The idea behind this is that when you drive under a bridge etc. if you see the lights reflecting on the underside of a bridge or whatever, chances are you will have CLEARANCE issues hence the name.
Semi trucks had them first, chances were that if they went under something you would see a faint glow reflected but if you saw a bright spot from each lite then you knew you would have to stop and physically check clearance before proceeding

All you have to do is read the DOT regs, and they explain exactly what the lights are required for- and it’s none of which you just described.

You could not be more wrong but thanks for playing… its to inform incoming vehicles that the truck coming is wide
