Chipmunk chewed wire

This is my first post and hopefully someone can help me out. I had a chipmunk chew a plug wire on the sides. For now I spliced the 2 wires and taped them , wasn’t chewed all the way through. I’m old school and not use to this direct ignition system, what is the best way to repair this and how do you disconnect it from the motor to repair it, seen there’s a red thing on it but don’t want to screw it up and have to take to dealership. Didn’t know if there was pigtails you could get and couldn’t pull up much information at all. Was thinking of cutting and using shrink tape and cutting and and putting back together . Had a mouse chew my wife’s highlander ground wire on the valve cover last week, threw a code and ram on 5 cylinders. Soldiered it together and it was all good. I’d start there

Best way I have found to deter mice and rats is a light under the vehicle add a dawn to dusk connection and your good . Nocturnal critters hate light !

I picked up a device on amazon that hooks to the battery and flashes and makes some sort of a noise that’s supposed to scare them away. They sure can be destructive, also chewed my battery cover off for there nest. Tried all the other sprays soaps and dryer sheets and none of that worked, they even walked by my traps

Ha…my buddy’s new TRX had something set up house under his battery cover when we went ducking a few weeks ago
