Central Dispatch shipping from Mark Dodge

<div class="bbWrapper">My truck arrived at MD on 12/20, and was listed on Central Dispatch to ship to the west coast, a 2000mi trip, on 12/22. Initially I was told the shipping costs would be between $1200-1700. So far, listed at $1700, no interested takers going on 10+ days. <br /> My question is, for those that may have experience shipping their new truck, is this shipping delay due to the holidays or because the $1700 is too low? How long did some of you have to wait for shipping from the dealership?</div>

It was easy getting back to PHX (1200 miles because I had to make a couple side trips). <br /> <br /> Originally I was going to look at shipping. They recommended $1000 to start… but the 1.5 day drive wasn’t too bad</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">I paid $875 for 750 miles from MD to St Louis. <br /> <br /> Another transport wanted $1075, but someone picked it up at the last minute for $875. Took about 3 or 4 days to get someone to take the job.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">A friend has his shipped (3500 SRW) from MD to California a few weeks ago for $1,800.<br /> <br /> I do think destination matters. The closer to an interstate the better. His didn&#039;t get picked up until he changed the location.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Newborn at home so no time for a 3 day roadtrip. Sounds like the going rate is over $1 a mile, thanks guys, I&#039;ll have MD adjust the price.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Is transportation something MD will help coordinate? Or are we left to our own devices to coordinate transporation of new HDs (for those of us that don&#039;t have the time to fly in/drive back home)?</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">I&#039;m in kind of a pickle with this same issue. My truck should be completed and at MD end of Jan or first of Feb. I live in Bellevue, WA - minimum 2,600 miles if I head NW up through the Rockies or 2,900 miles if I keep south to Bakersfield then up I-5. So I have the decision of flying down and driving back or paying for a shipper. It&#039;ll probably cost upwards of $2,500-3,000 to have it shipped vs driving those miles in the dead of winter. If it weren&#039;t winter, it&#039;d be a no-brainer as I would really appreciate the adventure of a multi-day drive across our beautiful country. Done it many times in my younger years and loved every mile.<br /> <br /> Anyone wanna make the decision for me? Hee hee.</div>

It was 1500 mile and cost $1,500 bucks. For me it was worth shipping. I figure it would have cost me at least $900 bucks to fly in and drive back. I would have Arron up the price to $1,800. Now that the holidays are over you might get a taker. <br /> My truck was listed at $1200 but no takers. Then Arron called and said they have a hotshot driver picking up another truck from them and he would take mine for $1500. My wait was about a week before the pickup then it took 2 days for delivery. He came in a day early. This was around thanksgiving. Prices get jacked up around the holidays (less drivers)</div>

I did not like having my new 83k truck sitting 1500 miles away from me. You should get a email with pictures of the truck at time of pickup. Make sure you inspect the truck good when you get it. Have flashlights ready in case they deliver at night. A extra set of eye is helpful. If you find anything after the driver leaves you have no recourse. I also had my sales rep take a picture of the truck when it was loaded.</div>

Do not rush. If you see anything have the driver note it on the paperwork. The drivers MD hires are insured. Aaron should send you the transport insurance info and link to the pictures the driver takes when he picks up your truck. <br /> . The good thing about central dispatch is the transport companies are vetted.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">I said this in another thread<br /> <br /> I’m 1600 miles away. If I spend $1600 to $2000 to have it shipped that’s all I get. If I spend that amount on a vacation to get it and a nice road trip back and see some relatives on the way at least I get that out of it also.</div>
