I use a CB at times when traveling and have been pondering on an install that don't hurt the eyes. Don't have the roof mount bracket finished yet however, I think this will work on the radio and external speaker mount.
Let's see pics of your CB installs and antenna mounting solutions.
Thanks

Have not seen a trucker that uses a cb in the last 10 years here so both seem irrelevant to me now

I guess all the truckers out here are slow to catch on or they just left their antennas on their rigs. Or maybe my old military buddy is just behind the times.

Sweet. now you can ask other boomers about weather and traffic, things you can’t get from an app or something

Because it's easier to key the mic instead of taking your eyes off the road to open waze for speed traps? Not sure what that has to do with age.

I’m not in that much of a hurry to get anywhere where I would need to be concerned about speed traps.

Carry on, snowman. Bandit out.

so i always had CB's in my cars and trucks. I liked the interaction with other drivers on long trips, the traffic reports, local info etc.
I've also known some truck drivers that had tuned CB's with huge amps that claimed they could communicate with the space shuttle!
I've always heard Ham radios were superior, i.e. talked farther, clearer etc. but i'm ignorant about them for the most part.
Be interested to see how you guys mount them

Cool story like i said here no one has em anymore….

There are still truckers that use CB, and there are drivers who have their amateur radio license, and use HF, and VHF.
I use a CB , and also a 2 meter vhf radio in the truck. I haven't installed either one in my new Laramie yet. It's on my to do list.

Yup....I find it kinda funny when people say cb is dead given they are about to go FM with them also...I'm an off roader and run a cb....looked into gmrs but the benefit wasn't enough to switch over....have zero interest in ham....

I use the CB on my Harley all the time, just love it!
